Day 28 - My day at the Library

Can you guess where these lyrics come from? Well today was entirely a work day, so the travel blog today is very short. We both had a full day of work to attend to, so I decided to go to the local library here in Moreton-in-Marsh to see what kind of WiFi service existed. We don't get our high speed WiFi installed into our flat until the 12th. The library is located on the south end of the town on the main road heading toward Stow-on-the-Wold.

We're getting autumn weather now, cool but sunny. I arrived before the library opened at 9:30 and was the first to be let in. I received my free library card as a resident of the town and proceeded to use their WiFi. Before I knew it I had stayed long enough to be kicked out at their closing time (1:30 p.m.).

Turns out they close at this time on every day except Thursday when they stay open until 6 p.m. The only day they're not open is Sunday.  Laura the Librarian (it would have been too much of a Matrix thing if her name was Marian!) was wonderful in getting me signed up and settled into the various services they provide.  Throughout the day local residents came in to use the library's computers or to print or scan documents. The library was also popular with young mothers bringing their children in to get children's books for reading. With today's technological movement, it was nice to see a community location that brings people together in a learning environment -- even new residents like me.
