Day 33-The Boo has landed

Today our daughter Rebecca arrived to visit us for a couple of weeks. When she was a toddler, I would call her Becca Boo and on occasion I sometimes call her "Boo."  And on this sunny afternoon, Angela and I waited at the MiM rail station waiting for the train to arrive from London Paddington with our lovely daughter on it.

Rebecca was surprisingly alert when she stepped off that train after an overnight flight, a trip into London from the airport and then a 90-minute train ride to MiM. Her first thoughts were to get a Sunday roast, so we dropped her luggage off at the flat and then headed to the Bell Inn. You may remember this pub? It was the topic of an earlier blog about JRR Tolkein staying here, so Becca was quite chuffed to eat there (she is a big LotR and Hobbit fan).

With our tummies full, it was time to walk off the meal and show her the surrounding countryside, especially as the late afternoon sun and a warm wind made the walk quite delightful. We took her up toward the Batsford Arboretum and Bourton-on-the-Hill so that Becca could look back down the valley toward the town.

When we got back to the flat, the travel had finally taken its toll on Rebecca and so it was a very early night for her and a quiet evening in front of the telly for us.
